Triple Blue Twist #5 37″ X 20″ or 45″X16″(depending on configuration)

The challenge and puzzle of creating this work was in making it arrangeable in three configurations by uniting each loop with it’s corresponding pinstripe on one panel with the other. Both are symmetrical and a product of a short series I did along this theme a couple years ago.The medium is acrylic on canvas along with modelling paste

Modern Icon #2 36″X48″

Modern Icon #2  Acrylic on canvas 36″X48″

This painting is a composite icon of an apostle, angel, shepherd  and Christ figure combined and reinterpreted in a modern style that takes it’s basic geometry from Byzantine iconography combined with the impression  that of stained glass in relation to it’s cell structure.Gold leafing was used on the highlights. This was a commissioned work and at the clients request  is a little more figurative that what I am accustom to creating. All the same I am very happy with the results and  being Greek in origin it was a pleasure  to reinterpret something  that is reflective of the culture that I was raised in

Inverted Spectrum #16

Inverted Spectrum #16

This is one in a long series of works that I have painted in this series over the last couple years the one panel has been mirrored then inverted then fractured  to compliment the composition and keep the transition interesting. The two opposing spectral scales naturally  for a warm coo l contrast to  the composition making it more vibrant.

One and One Half Diptych

One and One Half Diptych 30″X50″ acrylic on canvas

Abstract composition of contrasting vivid colours mimicking stained glass is reminiscent of the Bauhaus and Popart movements in feel and a lively composition.

Violet Magenta Composition

Violet Magenta #3 16″X20″ acrylic on canvas

This painting contrasts the warm Magenta with cool violets with highlights of blue and red using a free form composition of splines.

Spectral Diptych #2 acrylic on canvas 24″ X 55″

This work consists of a colour spectrum ranging from magenta to violet. The gradations have been fractured horizontally in order to stagger the colour transitions and to enhance the composition. I also incorporated spectral highlights that work in the opposite direction of the primary structure of the painting as a juxtaposition giving the painting more movement and depth.

Abstract Cobalt Spline Geometry #1                                                        20″ X 20″ X 2″ Acrylic on canvas

This composition is a free form composition of steel and cobalt blue contrasted by neutral greys and warm beiges.
