Dynamic Terrestrial Stratum

Dynamic Terrestrial  Stratum  20″X20″  acrylic on canvas

This is a work of earth and slate tones that interplay with  layered strata and curvilinear splines  and diagonals in juxtaposition  with one another and the raw texture within each cell

One and One Half Diptych

One and One Half Diptych 30″X50″ acrylic on canvas

Abstract composition of contrasting vivid colours mimicking stained glass is reminiscent of the Bauhaus and Popart movements in feel and a lively composition.

Violet Magenta Composition

Violet Magenta #3 16″X20″ acrylic on canvas

This painting contrasts the warm Magenta with cool violets with highlights of blue and red using a free form composition of splines.

Spectral Diptych #2 acrylic on canvas 24″ X 55″

This work consists of a colour spectrum ranging from magenta to violet. The gradations have been fractured horizontally in order to stagger the colour transitions and to enhance the composition. I also incorporated spectral highlights that work in the opposite direction of the primary structure of the painting as a juxtaposition giving the painting more movement and depth.

Abstract Cobalt Spline Geometry #1                                                        20″ X 20″ X 2″ Acrylic on canvas

This composition is a free form composition of steel and cobalt blue contrasted by neutral greys and warm beiges.

Square Slate strata Geometry #3 20″X20″X1,75″acrylic and modeling paste on canvas

This geometry uses natural stone colours and rock strata as it’s inspiration ,combined with splined cell structure and concentric circles that give the impression of melding all the elements as the row of circles passes horizontally  across the canvas. I often combine representation of natural elements with structured geometries as a an interface with natural world and the scientific that seeks to defines it in more linear terms.
